What Shall We Be When We Grow Up?

C and I were sitting around, drinking a Gamay Rouge from Napa Valley, when I looked at her and said, "Why don't we buy a vineyard when we're ready to move on?" She said, "Where?"

I thought, and thought, and finally said, "Why not Oregon, or Washington state?" But then I started to think of our environment here in South Florida. We wouldn't be tan, we wouldn't have access to fresh grouper, or mahi mahi, or we wouldn't be able to run around in shorts or on bikes all year long... We wouldn't be able to cruise down to Key West at the drop of a hat!

And then we looked at one another said, "What to do?"
Well....."What about a mango grove in Central Florida?" She didn't like the idea of Central Florida, but then... think about it. We could make Mango wine, and bottle mango salsa, or make mango chutney. We could be famous for our wine and salsa... We could distribute all of our products through Trader Joe's or Whole Foods. We could go on the cooking network and do mango recipes. She thought about it a little longer, and said, "That's a point of discussion."

So for now, we can dream about it.
But the way that Real Estate is going nuts, we won't be able to buy land in Central Florida for our mango grove pretty soon.
